Depth Treader: Concept Art and Direction


Hey all, Stotty here.

So a few months on from our first game (prototype) release for Mechjam, we find ourselves in a position to give a little update and what our plans are for future development of our game.

Changes in the team

We've recently expanded our team and brought on a new Artist, Ashkuto.  Ash will be primarily focused on the concept art side of things.

Game Engine

Another major stepping stone is that we've decided to explore other game engines, while we originally released using Unity, we feel that the toolset offered by other game engines like Godot and Unreal Engine will benefit our game more than Unity has previously. 

State of the game

Since the MechJam2022 we haven't really expanded on our prototype, our current efforts are directed towards learning the new engines and experimenting with updating and refining our art direction.

Anyway, the remainder of 2022 should be exciting, and a big thanks to those of you who played and enjoyed our prototype, even if it was unfinished!
